The Ontario government has announced that it is now possible for Ontario taxpayers to claim a tax refund and/or rebate with respect to two additional tax programs through the province’s online portal at https://www.services.fin.gov.on.ca/OTP/Gentax/_/. That online portal can now be used to claim a refund of land transfer tax under the First-Time Homebuyer Refund program and rebates and refunds with respect to the Non-Resident Speculation Tax.

The online portal does not require a user login, password, or signature, and supporting documents with respect to a refund or rebate claim can be submitted electronically. As well, immediate confirmation of receipt of an online application is provided.
